After the successfully Honda "Africa twin" model in the Dakar race Yamaha needed a new 2 cylinder engine to keep up.They developed a parallel twin in 750 cc with double upper camshaft and other advanced details.The bike was also commercially redesigned and was a selling hit.They build it from 1989 until 1996.It had long suspensions and had good off road and excellent road capabilities.
