Re: XTDM600E

Got any pictures of this?

As someone who's spent good time fitting a 3TB/4PT motor into an '83 600z 34L I'm interested to see how you've managed it.

Thanks

Ed

Re: Sprocket carriers - 43F/2KF vs 1VJ/3TB/4PT

Thanks Charlie - there's a number of posts on Tenere.co.uk and HUBB that explain how to put a 4PT engine in a 34L frame, which explain the changes that need to be made.

In addition, I've previously (successfully) run this set up, albeit with a 34L swingarm; given the dimensions of the 2KF swingarm ...

Re: Sprocket carriers - 43F/2KF vs 1VJ/3TB/4PT

Interesting, thanks Charlie.

What I didn't mention was that I'm running a 34L with a 4PT motor and a 2KF swingarm. I've previously run it fine with the 34L swingarm instead, but since having it converted to the 2KF swingarm, invertedly paired with the 1VJ stamped sprocket carrier, the chain line ...

Re: Sprocket carriers - 43F/2KF vs 1VJ/3TB/4PT

Thanks.

Yeah so ignore what wider bike its on here (trust me...its complex and won't help here!) and just focus on which swingarm is correctly paired with which sprocket carrier, based on the offcial Yamaha schmatics and part numbers:

- Carrier part no. 5Y125366009 (stamped with 5Y1) for the 34L ...

Sprocket carriers - 43F/2KF vs 1VJ/3TB/4PT

Hi all,

Does anyone/can anyone tell me the difference in the height/depth measurements for the following two types of sprocket carriers?

Part numbers:
- 5Y125366009 (stamped with 5Y1) for the XT600 34L/55W/43F/2KF models.
- 1VJ253660198 (stamped with 1VJ) for the XT600 1VJ/3TB/4PT models.

Even ...

Re: Mods and upgrades for a 55W

Hi there,

I've a 34L with a 4PT motor, which I've used extensively in recent years as a off-road travel bike in Europe, Caucasus countries, Morocco and Algeria - all of which is to say its been put through the mill!

Agree on suspension - I changed my shock to a Wilbers, which has been good.

A ...

XTZ750 - newbie tips

Hi all,

A fan of XT600s (I have two), I'm planning to get a XTZ750 in the near future to use as a long distance commuter/two-up tourer. I plan to use mainly for road riding albeit with a bit of light dirt road riding if/when the opportunities arise.

I wondered if any of the old hands on the group ...

Oil consumption levels

I’ve done a bit of scouting around online and I’m struggling to find information on what kind of oil consumption XT600 owners generally experience.

What do people find their consumption levels to be and under what circumstances (I.e. riding conditions, known wear and tear to the engine)?

I’m ...
