Yeah that's going to rattle like crazy. I think even 1mm is on the high side, you should only just about feel a very slight movement.

There's no Yamaha part number, the whole assembly was supposed to be changed as far as I can tell.

Not sure if I understand your issue correctly, however if you push on the basket alternately at the 3 and 9 o'clock position there can be a small amount of movement but not much. Maybe a millimetre.
The bush is easily swapped at an engineering shop.

My oil tank cap's munted, so that's of interest, think I'veseen them before but might have ruled it out at £100+ . And having to look round and leave the side panel off to read it ...

No space for the spark plug sensor, I imagine, so I wonder if you could put a sensor in the alternator housing and ...

If there's no number and no sign of removal then it's a replacement frame from Yamaha. The supplying dealer should have stamped it, many don't

I believe they all have the frame number on the RHS of the head and a plate riveted to the front.
Same number on each, and would have left the factory with the same number on the engine. I have one powder coated bike that you can barey see the frame number, I think I'll be uncovering it sooner or ...
