3yf exhaust front pipes

Hi.
The front pipes on my xtz 660 have rotted through. Where the pipes slot into the head.
I have seen second hand ones on ebay. But located in Italy and Portugal.
Can any one recommend or advise of a company that still makes them or can repair my old one.
I am located in Cheshire.

eBay German form sells them. Although £200! Exhaust firm also Reditch are really good and would maybe be able to make for you

have you got your front pipe yet i have two sets . one is a arrow set old but in good condition £85 p+p included. have an old ttr rear pipe, needs work but does not leek just scruffy £35 will fit arrow but not the standed one, then a standed front pipe with sheld good stand condition just needs paint £70 with p+p. and i have a delkeven rear pipe large round with link pipe handly used new these are £165 fits standed front pipes £100 with p+p any one interested please contact me 07516996253 cheers richie if answer just leave massage chronic ill but will get back to you, may send the lot as a bundle £245 let me know

Hi,

I also have the rotten headers that are so common on this age of bike.

I was looking to replace with Stainless steel, a Motad set or some stock looking ones from Germany but they all appear to be ‘out of stock’.

One of the other threads on the forum mentioned ‘Off the Road’ also in Germany. They have (in stock) a set of stainless steel headers but they are ‘big bore’.

The question is: If I fitted them, would I have to re-jet the carbs?

I really don’t want to delve into the depths of the carbs as a) I don’t have a suitable workshop and b) she is running absolutely sweetly at the moment.

I’m running the stock air box and filter and a GPR silencer with the DB killer in place.

Any thoughts from the tenere illuminati?

I had the same problem with the rusted headers of the xt600 tenere 1VJ. I searched for stainless steel aftermarket headers but didn´t find any on stock. So I decided to buy a nice looking TTR600 header that are stainless steel and much more solid than the stock one. It needs a little work of cutting it and welding it so that it fits right but its a good solution if you ask me.

I fitted new studs on the right hand side because they came out with the nuts, new gaskets are a must.
You might have to remove the clutch cable bracket and grind a bit off it, I had to as it was just catching the exhaust... I also put a couple of small spacers behind the bracket for a bit of extra clearance.. if you look at the adjusters on the bottom of the cable you can see what I mean

I’ve committed to the big bore headers now.
