Re: Oiltemp. sensor on 1VJ

I am taking that in consideration for sure. Its the best solution, no doubt, the only thing that I am worried about is to not be able to pass the technical inspection once I have done it. Here in Spain it is either small modifications (handlebars-mirrors-footpegs....) or you need to do a specific ...

Re: Oiltemp. sensor on 1VJ

Thanks both of you for your help!

The one solution you mentioned seems to be the better one I guess, as in the oiltank really is the most of the oil so the temperature reading can be the most accurate... I think I am going to try that out and see how that performs :)

Pressure reading is I guess ...

Re: Oiltemp. sensor on 1VJ

You are right Mezo, I meant the Oil cooler not the radiator... As I said I want to have control over the oil temperature.
Sorry for my english, if anyone has an idea please let me know.

Oiltemp. sensor on 1VJ

Hi there!
I have been looking after a good solution to read the oil temperature of my bike (Tenere 1VJ) since I bought it a year ago. I have experienced some overheating problems in the summer by extreme conditions (35ºC and stuck in traffic for 40min...) and since it is quite a common thing on the ...

Re: 3yf exhaust front pipes

I had the same problem with the rusted headers of the xt600 tenere 1VJ. I searched for stainless steel aftermarket headers but didn´t find any on stock. So I decided to buy a nice looking TTR600 header that are stainless steel and much more solid than the stock one. It needs a little work of cutting ...

Re: XT600 bit of black smoke and valve? noise

I´m quite new to old XT´s since I´ve had mine for only one year. But mine does also that sound and rides perfectly, so I guess it should be all fine in yours also.

Once someone told me that the valvenoise is due to the automatic decompression system, so...perfectly normal and typical for the bike ...

Re: Clutch change on 1VJ

Thx Geoff, yesterday I bought a good quality motul oil with that density in mind. Today I will let the old oil drain for as long as possible and tomorrow I´ll put the new oil and hope the clutchplates start doing their job again. If not I will have to change them too.

If so, did anyone here tried ...

Clutch change on 1VJ

Hi there!

I recently had to refill the bike with some fresh oil since I had resolved some important oil-leaks that sank the oil-level. I had nothing else but 20W40 mineral car oil at that moment and since I have to do a proper oil-change very soon I thought that it won´t matter that much,as a ...

Re: Draggy noise when kickstarting the bike

Yesterday I had the chance to speak to a friend of mine who is a mechanic and told him the whole story and he said the same, that it most probably has to do with the starter "freewheel" or sprag clutch (not sure how it is called in english). He also told me that it is quite rare that to happen and ...
